Wanted: “Bad” Dogs

Philosophy

Happy black dog with open mouth, tongue out, sitting on grassy lawn.

DirtyHounds is relationship-first, tool-optional, and never one-size-fits-all.

We’re not here to “fix” your dog. We’re here to help you understand them.

At DirtyHounds, training isn’t about dominance, quick fixes, or chasing perfection. It’s about building a real, working relationship between you and your dog — rooted in trust, communication, and mutual respect.

We meet dogs where they are — shy, reactive, stubborn, wild — and we meet people the same way. No judgment. No shame. Just honest support and a training plan that actually fits your life.

We believe in:

  • Clear communication over control

  • Individual dogs over rigid methods

  • Confidence-building over fear-based compliance

  • Education over ego

We use tools when they serve the dog, not the trainer’s pride. Every slip lead, prong, or e-collar is introduced carefully, ethically, and with full transparency. If we recommend a tool, it’s because it makes sense — for your dog, your goals, and your comfort level. You’ll never be pressured or left guessing.

Our job is to help you become your dog’s best advocate — not just their trainer.

We’re not here to impress the internet. We’re here to show up for real dogs, in the real world, with real results.
